(3.15.2009) The Piranhas are pleased to announce that they have partnered with Charley Myers to provide the highest level of soccer skill training.
Charley's Bio:
Head Coach Charley Myers has been a fixture on the mid-atlantic soccer scene for many years. As a young player in Baltimore he played for top club teams, winning many top tournaments such as the Roland Cup & Stewart Cup.
During high school he was an all-metro player for all 4 years of his high school playing career.
At the University of Baltimore, he was a 4 time all american. During his senior year, his team won the NCAA championship and Charlie was selected as the MVP of the tournament.
He played professionally in the NASL with both the Dallas Tornados & New York Cosmos.
Charley has been honored by being selected into both the University of Baltimore Hall of Fame & the Maryland Sports Hall of Fame.
Soccer is Charley's life passion - his training sessions are tough, intense and designed to make the player the best they can be. His team training sessions are based on the following:
establishing a good work ethic
technical skills with speed of play
good communication
passing and finishing skills with speed
heading and set plays
zonal defensive play
His passion and expertise are well represented in his current team which has over a dozen regional ODP players and has won the Maryland State Cup Tournament in 2006, 2007 & 2008.
